Magdalena de Cal Arriaga
Magdalena de Cal Arriaga is an Associate in the Infrastructure, Construction and Major Projects Area. Before joining ITER Law, she collaborated with international law firms such as Baker McKenzie and Pérez-Llorca.
Magdalena has experience advising on corporate, commercial and contracting matters in M&A transactions, banking and finance projects, especially for fintech companies. Currently she advises primarily project promoters, construction and concessionaire companies and other infrastructure operators, as well as financing institutions and institutional and private investors.
Magdalena holds a Double Degree in Law and Business from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (2016) and has studied the Masters in Legal Practice at Universidad Carlos III.
Magdalena is a member of Madrid’s Bar Association.
Magdalena is fluent in English and Spanish.
Cristina Ruiz Carballo
Cristina Ruiz Carballo is a practicing lawyer in the area of Insolvency and Corporate and Financial Restructuring, specialising in advising on refinancing, restructuring and solvency transactions, as well as in advising and acting as legal advisor to companies undergoing insolvency proceedings. Cristina also acts as a consultant in Corporate Debt Refinancing transactions and is a member of the insolvency proceeding Administrator’s team selected by the courts of Bilbao, Burgos, Madrid and Palencia.
In addition, Cristina has experience in rendering advise on labour and corporate aspects related to restructuring transactions; representation and negotiation in proceedings ensuing from changes in labour conditions; insolvency proceedings; redundancy schemes; companies’ restructuring proceedings; social protection and Social Security; as well as in advising on labour risk prevention; and accompanying clients during their interactions with the Public Administration.
Her professional experience also extends to the preparation and negotiation of all types of corporate contracts throughout various activity sectors, to advising the contracting parties; to the analysis and interpretation of contracts, and the issuance of legal opinions regarding contracts’ effect, scope and content; and to Due diligence processes.
Cristina has previously worked at Deloitte Abogados and Cuatrecasas Gonçalves Pereira.
Cristina has a Law Degree with Economic Speciality from Universidad de Deusto (2010).
She speaks Spanish, English, French and Basque and is a member of the Vizcaya Bar Association since 2010.
