Manuel Álvarez Díez

Partner in charge of Litigation and Arbitration

Manuel Álvarez has been a practising lawyer since 2006 specialised in civil and commercial Litigation and Arbitration.

During his professional career he has advised national and international construction, energy, telecommunication, real estate and service companies on legal and arbitration proceedings regarding corporate matters, obligations and contracts (sale and purchase of companies, assets and real estate, loans, services and construction contracts, supply contracts, leases, purchase option contracts, operation and maintenance contracts), agency, franchise and distribution contracts, and liability of directors, among others.

Manuel has a degree in Law from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba (Argentina). Besides he has a master degree in Legal Business Practice from the IE Law School. Apart from that he has other qualifications such as the Master European Union from the Diplomatic School of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Advanced Program on IP Rights and the Certificate in Business Administration both from the IE Law School. He coursed an Expert Course on Arbitration organised by the International Centre for Arbitration, Mediation and Negotiation (CIAMEN).

He is arbitrator in the Spanish Court of Arbitration and lecturer at the IE Law School and the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, where he teaches civil litigation and insolvency.

Manuel was shortlisted for the X Premio Jóvenes Juristas (X Young Lawyer Award) organised jointly by the Fundación Garrigues and the Universidad de Navarra.

Prior to joining ITER Law, Manuel was head of the Department of Litigation and Arbitration at Garrido Abogados as well as lawyer in Ontier and Pedro Alemán Abogados.
